Women In Renewable Energy Association (WIRE-A), a not for profit organization, was initiated in 2014 and launched in May, 2018. The goal of WIRE-A is to play a key role in the Renewable Energy sector, while advancing the role of women and showcasing their contributions to the industry.

MISSION
Dedicated to providing outstanding and innovative renewable energy solutions, that will enhance economic growth through decarbonization of the environment and thereby create maximum value for women in particular.

2014
Key WIRE-A members attended the Leadership Workshop in collaboration with ODUACCIMA and Counsel for Renewable Energy of Nigeria (CREN). The Master of Ceremony was Lady Isioma Fidel-Ewerem, PRO and member of the Board of Trustees.
2017
Event in collaboration with Environment Africa with the theme “Inaugural Listing and Recognition of Women In Renewable Energy. Held at the Four Points by Sheraton
Sensitization Workshop with the Theme, “Using Green Devices For Agricultural
Development: A Tool for Women Entrepreneurs.” It held at the Mainland Local Government and It was supported by Honourable (Mrs) Omolola Essien, Chairperson of the local Government.
2018
WIRE-A was invited to an enriching two day workshop organized by Canadian Solar in collaboration and Jubaili Bros. Certificates were given to members.
WIRE-A members attended the launch of Asteven Renewable Energy Academy
WIRE-A event held at Four Points by Sheraton, with the theme “Enabling Gender Focus for Sustained Empowerment” WIRE-A/Seat of Wisdom/Green Young Stars Club was launched after a stellar green performance by 10 pupil of Seat of Wisdom Primary School. The Children won a scholarship to ASREA and were giving solar lamps as gifts.
Event in collaboration with Jubaili Bros with the theme, “Advancing the Role and
Recognition of Women in the Renewable Energy Space” 2019
WIRE-A FCT/North Central Chapter was inaugurated
WIRE-A/Mende Flag off held at the Seat of Wisdom School in Maryland. The Baale
of Mende and his team were in attendance. A standing ovation was given to the
pupils after a greentastic presentation.
WIRE-A facilitated an excursion for Seat of Wisdom Green Young Stars to visit
ASREA. The excited children a documentary on Climate change.
WIRE-A in collaboration with ANWBN and ASREA organized a very successful 2-day Master Class for the members of OWIT. The theme was, “ Renewable Energy as a Tool for Women Inclusion in Social Entrepreneural Development.”
Some took up
the franchise and some earned scholarships.
A one day seminar was held at the NACCIMA house with the theme. “Welcoming
the Greenpeneurs: Renewable Energy in Promoting Economic and Wealth
Creation for the Present Day Entrepreneurs.
Green Network and Business Meeting held at the Resource Centre in Victoria Island. Theme was “Increase Your Sustainable Earning Power Through Greenpreneurship”
Signed MOU with ASTEVEN to synergize and promote WIRE-A exclusive initiatives:-
2020
WIRE-A Delta State Chapter was inaugurated.
WIRE-A/Advanced Power Energy Services Green Empowerment Meeting. MOU is in
the process of signing.
2021
WIRE-A and Advanced Power Energy Partnership Agreement
WIRE-A Rivers State Chapter – first official virtual and physical meeting. Also had
another stakeholders engagement meeting with the theme “LIGHT UP ETCHE” and
hashtag #
Online Knowledge Sharing Meeting with the theme Story Telling: A Tool for
Building Resilience Among Women
International Women’s Day Meeting with the theme: Renewable Energy Challenge
for Women in Post COVID-19 Nigeria
